Family of Four Photo Session Walk-Through

Let’s walk through one of my favourite shoots from the fall with a selection of some final images. This family of four stole my heart for the simple reason of these two kids. I remember vividly how genuine, innocent, and happy they were to do just about anything.

First, we started with some standing shots by the beach with some simple prompts that made these kiddos light up, including “tickle mommy and daddy!”

Then some more fun by getting the parents on their level and playing a game of “Simon Says.”

Next we did some walking shots with everyone hand in hand.

Then we took it to a different area for more standing shots. You can’t get kids to “smile at the camera” because all you’ll get is fake smiles. So, you have to trick them into giving you REAL smiles. These two made my job SO easy because they were so prone to laughter. Happy kids.

Don’t forget the different combinations of family members! And parents deserve shots too, just on their own! After all, they’re the ones that started this whole family thing in the first place.
